Sales Representative

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sales Representative to join our amazing sales team. The Sales Representative is responsible for being the principle contact between the business and customer for divisional products & services.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management
  • Maintaining records on area and customer sales
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses on existing and potential customers
  • Present, promote and sell products and services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calls
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales
  • Practice safe work procedures at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Dispatch Customer Service

We are growing & have opportunity for an energetic multitasker to join our Dispatch Team.
The Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and dispatching workers, work crews, equipment or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications or needs.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day
    Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers
  • Act as a communication liaison through the two-way truck radio system and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road
  • Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minutes scheduling changes
  • Monitor any sudden route changes or construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries
  • Relay work orders, messages and information to or from work crews, supervisors and field inspectors using telephones or two-way radios
  • Keep records, monitoring drivers’ daily logs for errors or violations and monitoring their working hours and equipment availability
  • Ensures controlled goods license requirements are being met
  • Provides accurate information to maintain the controlled goods license
  • Practice safe work procedures at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Specific Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional telephone skills and the ability to use multiline phone systems
  • Some experience with MS Office suite with and data entry; basic computer skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Driver - Residential

We are looking for a Residential Driver to join our growing team. In this role, you are responsible for ensuring your material collection route is completed on schedule and that recycling/ waste is collected, transported and offloaded in the prescribed manner.

These duties are performed on a daily basis in all types of weather conditions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Answer questions and assist customers and the general public, as needed
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of vehicles
  • Conduct all activities according to the collection schedule
  • Drive and load recycling/collection vehicle
  • Conduct daily inspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires Class 1 or 3 license with Air
  • Minimum 2 years working experience driving with required license
  • Although the regular work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, the ability to work overtime on an “as-needed” basis, is required
  • Driver’s Abstract is required
  • Driving knowledge of the Fraser Valley – an asset

Full-time, Permanent

Due to the demands of our growing industry, Valley Waste & Recycling Inc. is looking for a Driver who is able to grow into our Residential, Roll-Off, and Front-End departments.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections
  • Answer questions and assist customers and the general public, as needed and ensure customer satisfaction through reliable service
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of vehicles
  • Conduct all activities according to the collection schedule
  • Perform curbside, multi-residential, recycling and commercial accounts and in a manner that meets or exceeds contract requirements
  • Driving to customer sites, servicing, delivering, lifting and emptying bins into front-end vehicles and returning the bin to the original location
  • Transfer waste to the appropriate station, landfill or drop-off location
  • Follow instructions for tasks assigned by dispatch or the area Supervisor
  • Completion of daily documentation including but not limited to daily log books, customer work orders, pre/post trip inspections
  • May be required to climb up ladder on truck to inspect loads
  • Responsible for loading/ unloading, tarping of bins and securing of bins to truck decks
  • Attend all safety meetings and comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Class 3 license with air endorsement
  • 1-2 years driving experience in the waste industry is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the lower mainland area is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Physically fit; able to perform physically demanding job, lift 50 lbs and possess manual dexterity
  • Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions (year round)
